YENDI : Bawumia Leads Government Delegation to Yendi for Naa Mahamadu II Final Funeral Rites

Vice President, Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, earlier today, led a high-powered-government delegation to Yendi to witness the final funeral rites of late Dagbon OverLord, Naa Mahamudu Abdulai II.
Dr Bawumia's delegation included, Defence Minister, Dominic Nitiwul, Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed, Minister of State at the Presidency, Hon. Boniface Abubakar Sadiq and Business Development Minister, Mohammed Awal.
The rest Included, Mayor of Tamale, Iddrisu Musah Superior, NPP's Northern Regional Chairman, Samba Adam Baantima, MP for SAVELUGU, Hon. Samed Gunu, MP for Yendi, Hon. Habib Tijani, MP for Nanton, Hon. Hardi Tuferu, IGP, David Asante Apeatu, Member of the Council of State, Alhaji Amin Ahmed.
A host of MMDCEs in the Northern Region, Presidential Staffers and heads of government departments and agencies also were part of the Vice President's Delegation.
As part of visit, Dr Bawumia and his entourage witnessed the traditional house circumambulation which saw Regent of Dagbon, Bolin Naa Mahamudu Abdulai, sub chiefs and regents of the Abudu gate ride on horsebacks and went a couple of times around the Gbewaa Palace, amidst drumming, dancing and firing of musketeers.
The final funeral rites of Naa Mahamudu Abdulai II, who ruled Dagbon between 1969 and 1974, will officially conclude tomorrow Friday, December 24, with a Muslim prayer.
