NPP : Government Implementing Live Transforming Policies

A deputy National Communication Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Haruna Mohammed, has observed the NPP Government is implementing policies and programs to transform lives of people in the country.

He said though the party is founded on principles of liberalism, its track record in instituting social intervention policies is far better than the NDC which prides itself on its social Democratic principles.

He catalog the School Feeding Program, Free Maternal Healthcare,  NHIS, the Capitation Grant and the Metro Mass Transit system among others as some pro-poor policies the NPP has introduced which people have benefited immensely from.

Speaking at a media briefing in Tamale, Haruna Mohammed, who doubles as Northern Regional Coordinator for Youth Employment Agency noted, his party's main rival, the NDC during their reign came up with LESDEP and YESDEP which they could not sustain, an indication they are poor when it comes to implementing social intervention programs

In the area of the Economy, Haruna Mohammed said the NPP have proven in the two years they have been in power to be better managers of the economy.

He said though the party inherited a wobbling economy with GDP growth of 3 percent from the John Mahama government, the Nana-Addo-led administration has managed to put the economy on sound footing with increase in GDP growth to 8 percent and stabilisation of the Cedi against major trading currencies.

He added the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) program which has recruited 100,000 personnel to be absorbed by the private and public sectors was part of government effort aimed at addressing graduate unemployment in the Country.
