NGO Holds Durbar To Launch Operations.

A durbar of Chiefs and people of the Tolon traditional area has been held at Tolon in the Northern Region.
The durbar, held at the Tolon Naa's Palace was to officially launch the operations of charity organisation, Pan African Organisation for Research and Protection of Violence against women and children. The NGO which folded up in the Savelugu/Nanton area moved to gyyggcg Tolon at the start of 2018 and prior to their launching, had already series of activities including seminars and townhall meetings to discuss measures aimed at protecting the rights and dignity of women and children.
With funding from KiRA Germany, the Pan African Organisation will undertake a 3 - year project which seeks to eradicate, force, early and child marriages, kayaye and teenage pregnancies.
A project Coordinator of my own the NGO in an address at the durbar said his outfit was committed to empowering women and improving the lives of the vulnerable.
Dr Ndonwise Peter said his organisation was in Tolon for good and appealed for support as the Charity rolls out various interventions which seek to eradicate hunger, illiteracy, poverty, marital abuse and all forms of factors militating against the welfare of women and children.
Regent of Tolon, Major (RTD),Sulemana Yakubu on behalf of the people was grateful to the Pan African Organisation for Research for choosing Tolon as the base for their operations.
Staff of the NGO took turns to address the durbar on issues such as ggyGirl child education and dangers involved in marrying off girls at tender ages.
School children also competed for supremacy in dancing and singing.
